Sibeko will lead the head office staff to better serve the interest of all PRISA’s stakeholders.

Under the institute’s new strategic objectives, the board has entrusted him with the responsibility of a representative role in the public relations sector in Southern Africa. He is required to have an activist role in building a robust organisation that is legally compliant in all business aspects.

According to PRISA, he brings to the fore an ability to combine business development, stakeholder, relationship and integrated public relations management at an operational and tactical level.

In the institute’s 61 years of history, Sibeko has occupied the highest office as the president (between 2008 and 2010), where he ensured governance, organisational strategic alignment in the industry and membership expansion.

PRISA president and board chairperson Malesela Maubane says, “The board will give Sibeko its utmost support in the quest to achieve the organisation’s strategic objectives. We, therefore, welcome him as the CEO, and our hope is that his institutional memory will come forth towards the development of a motivated and high performing team.”

“The organisation’s 61 years of legacy is worth preserving for the future generation, and I am looking forward to turning PRISA around and inspiring professionals in all membership categories – from students, seniors and consultants. Most importantly, I look forward to delivering on the mandate given by the board of directors,” Sibeko adds.

The appointment of the new CEO also comes at a time when the institute has just moved into new premises at 54 Queens Road, Bryanston, where it is housed in the same premises with the Marketing Association of South Africa (MASA).
