|New PRISM Awards category recognises Young Achievers|
For the first time in the history of the PRISM Awards, emerging talent in public relations and communication will be showcased, with the introduction of a Student Award category. A record number of entries have been received for this year’s Awards, and student entrants face some very stiff competition from their peers!
“The Student Award is an exciting and important initiative for the PRISMs,” says Bridget von Holdt, convenor of the Awards. “It is a unique opportunity for up-and-coming public relations practitioners to benchmark themselves against their peers, and to see what they will be up against when they enter the highly-competitive job market,” she says.
Students from around the country have entered this year’s Awards, the aim of which is to recognise and celebrate excellence in public relations and communication.
Highlighting the importance of the Student Award, von Holdt says: “This is part of the PRISM Awards strategy to encourage professionalism and promote learning opportunities in public relations”. Entries will be judged by a panel of local and international experts across the public relations and communication spectrum. “The feedback from the judges will give students valuable guidelines on how they can develop and build on their strengths”, she says.
This year’s PRISM Awards ceremony takes place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Johannesburg in Rosebank on Sunday 25 March 2012 from 16h00 to 20h00.
The PRISM Awards is sponsored by BizCommunity, Hyatt Regency Hotel Johannesburg, Gautrain, Internet Corporate Exposure, Marketing Services & Communication, Mobilitrix, Pear Factor, Unique Photography and Unique AV.
