|Awards presented at PRISA Conference|
At the PRISA National Conference Awards function the following people were recognised for their contribution in the public relations and communication industry.
Bridget von Holdt APR FPRISA, managing director of Inzalo Communication has been awarded the 8th Ivan O’Brien Leadership Award. The prestigious award honours her for 25 years of untiring commitment to her profession, community and business. Bridget’s creativity, leadership, entrepreneurship and community empowerment is recognised through the many pro bono projects she leads. She possesses both a heart for the people and a head for business. Her successful business has been running for over 30 years. Her heart has involved her in fundraising projects for community and church. Her dedication and volunteering within the realms of her profession is beyond doubt.
PRISA and its members honoured both Judge King and Benita Steyn by bestowing upon them the PRISA President’s Award for outstanding services to both PRISA and the profession.
Judge Mervyn King was recognised as the father of Corporate Governance and that he has placed communication, stakeholder and reputation management on the map as strategic priorities in the world of business. Judge King is therefore a very worthy ambassador for the discipline and practice of communication management in South Africa and the world.
Benita Steyn received recognition for her invaluable contribution to public relations as a practitioner, consultant, lecturer and international author.
