Background
The Consultancy Management Standard is the public relations consultancy industry's assurance of commitment to excellence and professionalism.
During 2005 to 2007, the Public Relations Consultants Chapter (PRCC) of PRISA, with the co-operation of selected consultancies, developed the Management Standards, based on the UK standards and adapted according to South African business laws. At the same time, fundamental industry issues were reviewed regarding PRISA’s objectives, marketing and support for members. One result was that the membership supported moves for the introduction of a quality standard for member consultancies.
The first Consultancy Management Standard was approved by at the EXCO in 2007.
