Why and How to join PRISA | Print |

Why?

Research has shown that one of the most important reasons for joining is networking with peers, sharing and gaining knowledge and benchmarking yourself against best practice.

Registration with PRISA gives you the added advantage of gaining a professional status, as well as the globally recognised APR registration and you have access to all services at substantial discounts. PRISA will assist members in gaining certification from the Services Seta when this process is in place.

There are four different categories of registration:

An individual is a member of PRISA and pays an annual fee as set by members at the AGM. According to academic qualifications and experience, new applicants are evaluated and given points determining at which level they are registered i.e. Affiliate, Associate, Public Relations Practitioner (PRP), Chartered Public Relations Practitioner (CPRP) or Accredited in Public Relations (APR). The APR status is the highest registration level.

This is when there are five or more individuals from one company who join PRISA.  They pay a discounted individual fee excluding the initial entrance fee of R171.  The annual fee varies, depending on the number of individuals registered at the same time. Thereafter the annual fee as set by the AGM, is paid.
