AFRICAN PUBLIC RELATIONS INSTITUTES MEET TO SIGN A PROTOCOL AGREEMENT Victor Bongi Sibeko CPRP, president of the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA) and members attended the signing of a protocol agreement for mutual co-operation with the Public Relations Association of Mozambique (ADERP), held at the PRISA offices in Randburg on January 19 2009.This was to promote mutual understanding and trust between PRISA and ADERP, and promote the development of public relations and communication management between the two institutes and their members. Danilo Nhantumbo, president of ADERP and the guest of honour, was welcomed by the PRISA president. Sibeko pointed out the common vision of the two institutes: “PRISA shares a common vision with Mozambique as member state of the Southern African Developing Countries (SADC) to strengthen and consolidate comprehensive professional public relations and communication management standards and codes of ethics, anchored on the common values and principles of historical and cultural affinities that exist between the people of Southern Africa”. In his speech, Nhantumbo said public relations is a useful instrument in building societies.”We believe that the practice of public relations is an instrument for development of people and nations in the construction of just societies”, he concluded. Danilo Nhantumbo was awarded honorary membership of PRISA for taking this initiative.
