BUSINESS WRITING

As the 'wordsmith' of your company you need to be able to write professionally and be an expert on words. According to Richard Nordquist, “Business writing can be defined as memorandums, reports, proposals and other forms of writing used in organisations to communicate with internal or external audiences.” Although this definition is accurate, it merely represents the tip of the iceberg of the skill of effective business writing. To acquire a clearer understanding of what business writing entails, PRISA is offering a three day workshop.

Communication is vital to the functioning of a business. Public relations professionals not only facilitate this communication, they also generate the messages and the content of this corporate communication. Different business writing techniques are used for different purposes and audiences. Being able to discern between the various tools available and knowing when to use which one, is just as important as having the fundamental skills to draw up the different documents. This three day workshop is intended to be in-depth, interactive and informative. You will greatly benefit from both the technical input and practical examples of this programme and will emerge with a comprehensive upgrade on your business writing skills.

Outcomes of this workshop for participants:

  1. Working with words - principles of effective business writing
  2. Styles and formats of business writing
  3. Writing effective business e-mails
  4. Writing business letters and reports
  5. Writing proposals and executive summaries
  6. Writing press releases and web writing
  7. Tips and toolboxes for effective business writing
