Copy editing is one stage of a process through which written material (a manuscript) is subjected before final printing takes place. This process applies, to a greater or lesser degree, to all written material, such as a text book, a magazine article, a film script, a company newsletter or even documents with a limited distribution, such as in-house reports or business proposals.
